After 2017 both orchestras will get together once more for a great charity concert in favour of Brass Band Sachsen. The concert split in two parts will be opened by a virtuosic chamber music program with the saxophone and the percussion players of the Air Force Band Erfurt.
Afterwards Brass Band Sachsen under baton of chief conductor Allan Ramsay (Scotland) will multi-faceted perform traditional original works but also modern arrangements of the brass band literature with melodies full of verve.
The Air Force Band Erfurt is the musical ambassador of the German armed forces for the central Germany. With its big symphonic wind orchestra and several chamber ensembles the orchestra inspires the audience in Thuringia, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt as well as in foreign countries.
Brass Band Sachsen, consisting of 30 brass players and three percussionists, is unique in Saxony. Started as a simple project orchestra in 2004 in most recent years the ensemble has developed to one of the leading brass bands in Germany.
The band successfully took part at many national and international competitions already. Amongst others Brass Band Sachsen became European Champions (Challenge Section) in 2016 and became runners-up in 2018 (Championship Section) as well as in 2016 and 2024 (1st Division)
