"Die Waldeck" is an open space with a conference center. It has been managed for decades by the Burg Waldeck e. V. (ABW) operated in free self-government. There is space for around 100 people in several houses and huts, and a campsite can also be used. The beautiful site with spacious open spaces is located in the middle of the forest and is surrounded by streams and a castle ruin. It is ideal for long walks, but also for nature and wilderness education.

The Waldeck became widely known in the 1960s through the international chanson and folklore festivals, which were not only the first open-air festivals in Germany at all, but also represented the starting point for the development of a new, German-speaking songwriter community. Musicians who are now indispensable, such as Franz-Josef Degenhardt, Hannes Wader, Reinhard Mey and Hanns-Dieter Hüsch, started their careers here.

Mainly children and youth groups use this place. But many other groups, often from the theater and music scene, appreciate the unique atmosphere of the Waldeck, where you can work and party well.
