The Wikimedia Hackathon is organized by the Wikimedia Foundation in collaboration with Wikimedia Italia (WMIT) and is taking place in-person in Milan, Italy, from May 1 - 3, 2026.

General registration will be open from mid-January until mid April 2025 or until we reach event capacity.

If you are a recipient of a Hackathon Scholarship (you have received a separate email with a registration code), please select “Scholarship Registration” below and input the voucher code from your scholarship award letter. Scholars must register by January 11, 2026.

Data Protection disclaimer
The information that you provide - while filling out this form - will not be shared publicly and will only be accessed by the Hackathon coordination team (WMF staff), and, if you apply for a scholarship, by the scholarship committee. If you were awarded a scholarship, your information will also be shared with Wikimedia’s contracted travel agency, the Italian and Milanese Tourism Boards and the conference hotel for the purposes of booking your travel, as well as our duty of care provider for medical insurance coverage.
