R Dev Day @ Rencontres R 2026 is an open, collaborative event for people interested in contributing to the code and documentation of base R, or to infrastructure that supports such contribution. Both new and experienced contributors are welcome!
It will be held on Friday, June 19th, 2026. This is a satellite event to Rencontres R, which takes place from Tuesday, June 16th to Thursday, June 18th in Nantes, France. It is not necessary to register for the main conference in order to attend the R Dev Day.
You can choose to join in-person at Nantes University, or online. Remote participants should be able to join the Zoom meeting from 09:15 to 17:00 CEST (see equivalent local time under "Where and when" section below).
The working languages will be French and English.
Registration for both events will remain open until Friday, May 29th, 2026.

Activities
Tasks are prepared in the run-up to the event, but will likely include:
- Reviewing, analysing and fixing code or documentation bugs reported on R’s Bugzilla.
- Contributing to message translations via Weblate.
- Developing contributor infrastructure, such as the R Dev Container.
