Sepulkralmuseum

The Museum of Sepulchral Culture in Kassel is dedicated to death, grief, burial, and the culture of remembrance—topics that affect everyone. Exhibitions, events, research, and educational programs offer new perspectives on saying goodbye, commemorating the deceased, and dealing with the end of life. Supported by the Central Institute and Museum of Sepulchral Culture as well as the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Friedhof und Denkmal e. V. (Cemetery and Monument Working Group), the museum combines museum work, scholarship, outreach, and association activities in a setting that is unique in Germany.
