Release 2024.5.0 of pretix

24. Mai 2024

Today, we are releasing pretix 2024.5.0. This release introduces a time machine to our test mode and a number of smaller changes throughout the system. Big thanks go out to AbdelatifAitBara, Adam Kaput, Charlie Lundberg, Krisztián Henrik Papp, Nikolai, Raphaël Deu, Serhii Horichenko, Shintaro Okamatsu, and Sinan Sarıçınar who contributed to this release. ❤️

pretix 2024.5.0 is now available for installation via pip. The new Docker images will appear on Docker Hub over the next few hours. All customers of pretix Hosted are already using the new version and do not need to take any action.

Time machine

Yes, you are reading correctly: pretix now includes a time machine! 🪄

pretix allows creating lots of time-dependent configuration, such as events, products or discounts that may only be sold in a certain time frame. This makes testing your shop before publishing it harder, because it does not allow you to test all the different combinations that are only available at a later point in time.

With our newly added time machine you can – in test mode – simulate all of this by choosing the date and time you want to simulate your ticket shop at:

Attendee data modification

pretix has always allowed ticket buyers to change their information, such as their name or answers to individual questions. With this release, now you can also provide this functionality to attendees other than the ticket buyer (i.e. people a ticket has been bought for). As part of this, the settings around data modifications have been reorganized a little bit.
