Release 2025.8.0 of pretix

Sept. 29, 2025

Today, we are releasing pretix 2025.8.0. This release includes a plugin for a new public transport API and lots of minor changes throughout the system.

Big thanks go out to CVZ-es, Danny Adair, Davide Wayan Mores, Jan van Haver, Luca Sorace, Mie Frydensbjerg, patch-works-be, Q, Renne Rocha, Yasunobu YesNo Kawaguchi, and z3rrry who contributed to this release. ❤️

pretix 2025.8.0 is now available for installation via pip. The new Docker images will appear on Docker Hub over the next few hours. All customers of pretix Hosted are already using the new version and do not need to take any action.

RIDE ticketing

We've expanded our set of public transport APIs to include the RIDE ticketing API. RIDE ticketing is providing a digital platform for six major public transport providers in Germany. Our new plugin allows attendees to receive a public transport ticket as part of their event ticket.

Smaller changes and bugfixes

Ticket shop and widget

  • For free orders that require approval, the text shown to customers before sending their order has been updated to sound less formal.

  • Date and time range formats for New Zealand have been improved.

  • Scrolling behaviour for form errors on iOS Safari has been improved.

  • The event calendar no longer shows "waiting list" on event series dates if no products with waiting list have been configured.

Ticketing backend and configuration

  • The number of canceled tickets in the "order overview" table now links to a filter that includes partial cancellations.

  • Exports are now validated against the user’s permissions before allowing to be scheduled. (This usually only affects admin users.)

  • "Bank transfer" is now a hybrid plugin that can be enabled on organizer level and event level.

  • The frontend component responsible for searchable select boxes has been updated for slightly improved accessibility.

  • Handling of invoices that cannot be transmitted via email due to a permanent error has been improved.

  • A case of incorrect assignment of ticket layouts when downloading all tickets for an event has been fixed.

  • A case of incorrect placement of ticket background PDF files has been fixed.

  • Minor corrections to logging of backend actions.

  • When a date in an event series cannot be deleted, it is now disabled automatically.

  • Organizer-level plugins are no longer shown as active incorrectly.
