Release 2026.8.0 of pretix

Today, we are releasing pretix 2026.8.0. This release features all small changes throughout the system that landed over the summer.

pretix 2026.8.0 is now available for installation via pip. The new Docker images will appear on Docker Hub over the next few hours. All customers of pretix Hosted are already using the new version and do not need to take any action.

Smaller changes and bugfixes

Ticket shop and widget

  • Hungarian is now available as a community-maintained language.

  • The page title of dates in an event series now contains the time and title of the date.

  • Clicking on product pictures to enlarge them no longer leads to unwanted scroll bars.

  • The event calendar now considers events without any available products as "not available" for all filtering purposes.

  • Attendee address: A bug has been fixed that caused addresses to be rejected in countries that require a state or province to be entered.

  • Widget: The new (but fully compatible) implementation based on the Vue 3 framework instead of Vue 2 is now active.

  • Widget: Multiple bugs regarding the correct display of prices and tax rates have been fixed.

  • Widget: A bug has been fixed that caused Safari to block attempts to open a new tab.

  • Widget: A new parameter data-attendee-fix is supported, similar to the existing data-fix parameter.

  • Bank transfer: Payment QR codes are now shown on mobile devices as well.

  • PayPal: Handling of incoming webhooks has been improved.

  • PayPal: Payments pending PayPal's review can now be optionally allowed to be retried after a certain time has passed.

  • Rendering of phone number input fields has been improved for countries that share a phone prefix with other countries (e.g. +1, +39, …).

  • The "old" PayPal integration, deprecated in 2022, has been removed.

  • Invoices generated after a change of the payment provider are now properly transmitted.

  • A redundant event date in the header of the event has been removed in specific configurations.

  • A bug has been fixed that did not properly show products that are only available when a different product is unavailable if the second product is only unavailable due to a time constraint on all variations.

  • A "change password" link is no longer shown to users who are logged in through an SSO provider.

Ticketing backend and configuration

  • Contact and imprint URLs can now be set to different targets per language.

  • Questions with text types can now be configured to have a minimum length.

  • The payment deadline can now be adjusted for each sales channel.

  • You can now allow users to postpone the decision for a payment method until after the purchase.

  • The devices section now shows the last time the device was seen online.

  • New placeholders event_begin_time and event_end_time are available on some email templates.

  • Preview of some email placeholders has been fixed.

  • The refund distribution form no longer allows to input negative amounts.

  • Email settings: An incorrect error message for wrong DMARC settings has been fixed.

  • Bulk refund of overpaid orders now actually works instead of refunding only the first selected order.

  • Refunding an order by moving the money to a different order ("offsetting refund") now checks that the acting user has permission to modify the target order.

  • Handling of PDF backgrounds with differences between the PDF media box and crop box has been improved.

  • 2FA login has been improved to show clear error messages if a device is locked due to too many failed attempts.

  • The invoice data export now contains information specific to the invoice's transmission method (e.g. Peppol information).

  • The voucher CSV download now contains total and used discount budgets.

  • System administrators can now see the status of a user's two-factor authentication devices and reset any failure counters.

  • Improper shredding of invoices in the data shredding feature has been fixed.

  • Write protection for event meta properties is now properly validated by the backend.

  • When managing plugins on the organizer level, users can now see all of the organizer's events, even the ones they usually do not have access to.

  • Rendering of very long event names in the headline of reports has been fixed.

  • Repetition rules (e.g. date creation, export scheduling) now allow selecting the fourth of a day in a month (e.g. the fourth Wednesday of each month).

  • Badges: A new layout for 90 x 90 mm badges has been added.

  • PayPal: The maximum length of a client ID is no longer limited.

  • When cloning organizer-level scheduled exports, subject and message are now also copied over.

Updates to official plugins and tools

  • pretixSCAN 3.5.0 has been released, featuring a redesign of our "kiosk mode" feature that more closely aligns with the use cases we see in the wild. The old kiosk mode can still be turned on in the settings for the now but is scheduled to be removed. If your use case is not covered by the new kiosk mode, please reach out to us to discuss!

  • The Adyen plugin has been released in version 1.5.3 to hide secret keys in the backend.

  • The Campaign Tracking plugin has been released in version 1.6.4 to add a placeholder for the campaign ID in external URLs.

  • The Double Opt-In Step plugin has been released in version 1.4.0 to allow users to request a resend of their verification email.

  • The Fontpack: Free fonts plugin has been released in version 1.11.2 to update some font files.

  • The S-Public Services GiroCheckout plugin has been released in version 1.1.1 to support GiroCheckout 2.0, process canceled payments, and fix a bug that caused duplicate payments.

  • The Mollie plugin has been released in version 2.5.9 to improve how due dates for bank transfer payments are computed.

  • The OPPWA plugin has been released in version 1.4.5 to stop rendering API secrets in the backend.

  • The pretixPOS backend plugin has been released in version 3.24.0 to add a new opt-in style for closing reports and fix multiple API issues.

  • The Resellers plugin has been released in version 3.3.0 to allow creating multiple sales channels and assigning individual resellers to sales channels.

  • The Resources and scheduling plugin now supports defining buffer times for each requirement of a product to block assigned resources for certain intervals before and after the event.

  • The Saferpay (SIX) plugin has been released in version 1.6.4 to hide secret keys in the backend.

  • The Seating plugin has been released in version 2.5.5 to ensure compatibility with pretix 2026.8.0.

  • The SEPA Direct debit plugin has been released in version 2.7.1 to fix a bug in organizer-level exports

  • The Tracking codes plugin has been released in version 2.21.0 to add cart tracking for Matomo and fix issues for Google Analytics.

  • The ZUGFeRD invoices plugin has been released in version 2.6.4 to update the usage of unit codes and language codes to align with EN16931.

Runtime and server environment

No changes.

Plugin API changes

  • The contact_form_fields_overrides mechanism can now also override the labels of fields.
