Release 2026.5.0 of pretix

May 27, 2026

Today, we are releasing pretix 2026.5.0. We're proud to present the first version of our new scheduling plugin. Other than that, this release includes mostly maintenance work while we prepare new features behind the scenes.

Big thanks go out to corentin-spec, CVZ-es, Daniel Musketa, Hijiri Umemoto, Khalid Shaheen, Mie Frydensbjerg, Nikolai, Paul Berschick, Phumraphee Sae-tang, Ruud Hendrickx, Stefano Campus, sweenu, Thomas Göttgens, and Yasunobu YesNo Kawaguchi who contributed to this release. ❤️

pretix 2026.5.0 is now available for installation via pip. The new Docker images will appear on Docker Hub over the next few hours. All customers of pretix Hosted are already using the new version and do not need to take any action.

Resources and scheduling

We are incredibly excited to announce the first published version of a major plugin we have been working on for more than a year. Our plugin Resources and scheduling is a game changer for everyone operating guided tours, workshops, or similar formats common across museums or cultural institutions.

With this plugin, you can add the availability of guides, rooms, and materials that are required for operating your offers to pretix, together with additional information such as the language skills or topic knowledge of your guides. Then, you can declare which products require how many resources of what type. Based on this information, pretix can suggest which guides or rooms you can use for any specific date in your event series. The system will alert you about any inconsistencies or double-bookings to prevent errors when assigning your resources. A "quick entry" option allows you to discover possible times for individual tours that your customer requested with just a few clicks. Guides or room managers can log into the system to manage their own availability or confirm bookings.

There's a lot more to it, and this is only the beginning. Over the coming months, we'll continue to build out this plugin to become one of the most powerful options for museum and tour management out there. You can find more information with the following links. If this sounds like something you need, please also feel free to reach out to our support team, we're happy to help you get onboarded.

Smaller changes and bugfixes

Ticket shop and widget

  • A new version of the widget with same functionality but based on a new technical foundation can be selectively enabled through the global system settings by entering the origin (e.g. https://example.org) for the sites embedding the widget. After testing, the new widget will be enabled for everyone in a future release.

Ticketing backend and configuration

  • You can now bulk-edit multiple quotas at the same time.

  • The backend now shows a warning if a new invoice is required for an order but has not yet been generated automatically.

  • In an event series, the list of products in an order now links to the included dates.

  • If your products have multiple program times (introduced in 2025.10), these can now also carry different locations.

  • A new badge export layout was added to export 4x3-inch badges on US letter paper.

  • A bug with automated email rules has been fixed when cloning event series.

  • The "valid VAT ID" symbol is no longer shown if there is no VAT ID.

  • Bank transfer: Automated matching now handles payment notes including multiple event slugs with overlapping values better.

Updates to official plugins and tools

  • The Exhibitors plugin has been released in version 1.17.0 to add more API features for exhibitors.

  • The Mollie plugin has been released in version 2.5.5 to improve session handling after PayPal redirects.

  • The Shipping plugin has been released in version 1.23.4 to fix shipping method descriptions not being consistently rendered as Markdown.

Runtime and server environment

  • The SSRF protection we introduced in 2026.4.0 now also blocks requests to IP addresses in the RFC 6598 range (thanks Geo).

Plugin API changes

  • The is_available declaration of organizer/event hybrid plugins is now correctly respected.

  • pretix is now using Vue 3 internally instead of Vue 2 for interactive backend components.

  • When SubEvent objects are modified, the save method of your subevent_forms plugin form is now called after the SubEvent itself has been updated.

REST API changes

  • You can now receive webhooks for changes of quotas.

  • A race condition has been fixed that allowed over-redemption of vouchers through the API.

  • A crash in API-triggered export generation has been fixed.
